Andrew Holton

Andrew trained originally as an actor and a singer, although for the past nineteen years he has been working almost non-stop as a Stage Manager.

In this capacity, shows have included THE MOUSETRAP, FROM A JACK TO A KING, EDDIE IZZARD LIVE AT THE AMBASSADORS, BLOOD BROTHERS, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT all in the West-End.

Regionally and on tour, shows include AN IDEAL HUSBAND (Which also went to Jerusalem), THE GONDOLIERS & IOLANTHE both for D’Oyly Carte, THE WITCHES, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, and THE 1995 VE. DAY CELEBRATIONS IN HYDE PARK. As well as many shows with strippers of both gender at THE RAYMOND REVUEBAR, THE WINDMILL THEATRE, and on tour with GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT.

Andrew started his technical career in THE RAYMOND REVUEBAR and MADAME JOJO’S drag club in Soho, and there designed many sets for the shows.  Since then, he has designed sets, costumes and lights for THE HOT MIKADO in Swansea, ONE BAD THING - THE MURDER OF JOHN LENNON in Liverpool, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, and TRIAL BY JURY, NICE BIT OF FISH IN HIGH WYCOMBE, and CHEER UP SLEEPY JEAN in London.

Andrew has written DAY tRIPPERS (a new look at the Jack the Ripper case), GILBERT’S WATCH (a Gilbert & Sullivan time travel teleplay), an adaptation of FAUST, and an adaptation of Gilbert & Sullivan’s HMS PINAFORE. (re-written for six actors).  He is currently co-writing with Ben Davies a musical biography of the 18th century castrato , IL DIVINO FARINELLI,  which is due into production in 2007.

Directorial credits include many cabarets for a variety of drag artistes, TWELFTH NIGHT,THE TEMPEST and  a workshop for a brand new production of LES MISERABLES, as well as all the workshops and reading of his work IL DIVINO FARINELLI.

Andrew is currently Stage Manager on JERRY SPRINGER – THE OPERA.
