BUZZING WITH ENERGY
His Majesty's Theatre Aberdeen 20 September 2005
When it comes to a show with mass appeal, Joseph wins hands down every time.
The first night audience, from pre-school youngsters to great grandmothers and many more in between, was treated to the earliest collaboration of musical greats Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
As always, they were captivated by the experience.
First written and performed almost 40 years ago, Joseph was designed to appeal to children.
Bill Kenwright's production captures the pantomime style and serves it up in an extravaganza that buzzes with energy from beginning to end.
Comedy abounds through the quirky script and, with recognisable melodies at every turn and an innovative set which evolves easily around the fast-moving storyline, the show is set spinning into the 21st Century.
As Joseph, newcomer Craig Adams is fresh-faced and wide-eyed, perfectly capturing the boyishness of the role.

YOUNGSTERS ENJOY ALL THE FUN OF THE FAIR
LINDSAY MCINTOSH
22 September 2005
Hundreds of school children with special needs paraded down Aberdeen's beachfront yesterday with the cast of a west end musical smash.
More than 600 youngsters met the kind-hearted actors and actresses appearing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
The Lloyd Webber musical, which has enjoyed worldwide success, is showing at the newly refurbished His Majesty's Theatre in the city.
The delighted pupils spent the morning at a disco at the Beach Ballroom where they met entertainer Chico the Clown.
Afterward, they were led by two pipers and 10 stewards down the Beach Promenade to Codona's Amusement Park where they spent two hours.
The youngsters came from 21 schools from around the north-east, including Fraserburgh, Banff, Ellon and Aberdeenshire.
The outing was sponsored by the amusement park and the Scottish Branch of the Variety Club.
Jack Zimmer, of the club, said the day was "all about the children".
